Mattress Comparison

Skoda Dream 88 Classic

[Background Knowledge].

Shunda and Simmons have merged and are now called “Shunda-Simmons”.

The owner behind Schoda-Simmons, Anhong Capital, is also the holder of Kinko’s.

By 2018, Schuda was already in a sort of marriage with Kinko’s.

In 2021 there are rumors that Schoda and Kinko’s will completely merge into one company, as of now there is no more news.

(So it is understandable that Schoda and Kinko’s are very similar in terms of product pricing)

-Schuda

Schoda has the patent rights to use the “Myriad” spring, which is one of the best features of Skoda.

But, the whole web spring …… like the Myriad Buckle is not as cheap as the Bonnier in terms of price and not as resistant to interference as the Solo Pocket.

Therefore, many of Schuda’s current e-commerce products have abandoned the Myriad Buckle.

The Shuda Dream 88 is typical of these.

-Advantages

-Advantage 1: Left and right-handed independent pocket springs

Individually pocketed springs for better resistance to disturbance.

-About the right and left-handed coil.

Sort of a reworked version of the normal independent spring, barely an upgrade.

It might theoretically last longer, but the difference is too marginal to be ignored.

Advantage 2: 28 cm thickness ……

Actually, 28 cm is not thick compared to an American twin mattress sale.

[Disadvantages].

Disadvantage 1: Too expensive and unstable

Same as Kinko’s, no repetition.

Disadvantage 2: Latex layer too thin

Claims to have latex, but the latex layer is only 1.2 cm ……

Barely there, but actually of limited practical use, except for the publicity benefits.

[Features].

Feature 1: Quilted layer of eggshell cotton

The quilted layer is the layer that comes into contact with the skin.

It is not simply a layer of fabric, but a surface layer of fabric with 1 or 2 layers of foam wrapped underneath.

One of the layers in the quilting layer of the Soda Dream 88 is ‘eggshell cotton’.

Theoretically it is more impact resistant than ‘flat foam’, but isn’t it good for distributing body weight? …… is doubtful.

(I’ve slept on various raised latex mattresses and used similar latex pillows anyway, only to find them more uncomfortable)

Feature 2: Bedside reinforcement system

Definitely better than unreinforced, but not significantly so.

It’s a feature that does the job, but it doesn’t close the gap yet.

[Overall rating].

There are two models of Shunda Dream 88, Classic corresponding to Prosperity A and Glory corresponding to Prosperity B.

The classic and glory two than, I think half and half.

Although the Glory upgrade added a layer of memory foam, but the location is too far down, not very meaningful, but more than 1000 yuan more expensive.

The Classic, on the other hand, is clearly too heavily downscaled and is all but 28cm thick, which is a bit awkward even as an entry.

— Sealy Range Moon

Background knowledge.

1) Sealy and Tapper are family

2) Sealy’s attitude towards online e-commerce is rather wobbly

Shunda mainly focuses on Myriad Buttons, while Sealy focuses on Posturepedic springs.

Unlike Shunda, which has switched to independent springs in order to cater for e-commerce, Sealy still sells Posturepedic springs online.

And Sealy has always been ‘hesitant’ about e-commerce.

If you look at Sealy’s e-commerce page you will see that

All products are listed with only common advantages, nothing else is written, it’s a lonely read ……

All the pictures are the same, except for the product parameters, which are not different.

(It could also be related to the fact that there are always people taking apart the structure)

-It’s a good idea to take it apart.

[Advantages

-Advantages

Advantage 1: 28 cm thickness

Same as the Schoda Dream 88 Classic, which is barely a pro.

Pro 2: Supports 90-day trial sleep

Although the shipping cost needs to be paid by the consumer, it is an attitude that deserves recognition.

[Cons].

Cons 1: More expensive and volatile

This is the same as the previous Kinko’s and Shunda, no explanation.

Disadvantage 2: The whole network spring, poor anti-interference

If you are afraid of being disturbed by your other half in your sleep, this one is a no-brainer ……

Although Sealy itself says it has some resistance to disturbance, it’s basically negligible.

Disadvantage 3: Perhaps, you may find it ‘too soft’

Posturepedic springs, which claim to ‘move against the body’.

But compared to Bonnier and Myriad, Posture springs are much softer (hence the name ‘open spring’).

-This is why they are called “open springs”.

A common problem with all full web springs.

They tend to slip into the middle (some are noticeable, some are not).

If you don’t like soft ones, then be prepared for.

(just a hint: the Range Moon is an upgrade to the Royal Premium)

Emphasis added, of course.

I don’t mean to impugn anyone, just expressing the phenomenon!

-I’m just expressing the phenomenon!

If you think soft is a good thing, then you can buy it without fear or favour.

After all, some people just like that Q-tip wrapping feeling.

Cons 4: The latex is too thin and very chicken

At 1cm thick, the latex layer is thinner than the 1.2cm of Schuida.

With this thickness, don’t expect any more latex feeling.

Features

Feature 1: Possible reinforced bed surround to reduce the feeling of falling

The reason I say “may” …… is because I’m too uneducated to see the extent of the “reinforcement”.

But they say it does, so let’s assume it does.

Feature 2: ……

I can’t find it, forget it ……

-I don’t think I can find it.

[Overall Rating].

This is one mattress/commodity that I definitely wouldn’t pick.

1) Both the softness of the whole web and the non-independent interference are unacceptable to me.

2) The “sincerity” of this introductory product is also a deterrent to me, so I’m just waiting for the live room to sell it?

3) The 90 day trial is actually a very good attitude, but not covering return shipping is a bit tasteless …… to cover shipping at least it’s worth trying.

— Xilinmen 4D magnetic suspension

Xilinmen is the brand of Gujia, this should be known to everyone ……

Not too much about the brand, I believe many people have used it.

It has been on the market for 5 years now and sales have been high.

At present, 4D Maglev has issued two variants, which are.

1) A ‘comfort version’ that replaces the solo pocket spring with a Bonnier whole web

2) The ‘Spine Version’ which further cuts out the imported latex

We are still using the original 4D Maglev version as our main comparison.

-[Advantages

Advantage 1: Independent spring, anti-disturbance

Advantage 2: Anti-bacterial and anti-mite on six sides of the jacket

This is not strictly speaking an advantage.

After all, everyone has to sleep with sheets.

But it’s better than nothing, and antibacterial is a free gift anyway.

— Disadvantages

Disadvantage 1: latex thickness is too thin

The thickness of the latex layer is 1 cm, this …… is a little too thin.

Disadvantage 2: double-sided soft and hard

If you really think the brown pad is good, then please return this and buy a brown pad.

Why spend more than 2000 on this when you can get away with more than 1000 for a big brand mattress?

Can you sleep on both sides of the bed?

How many of you can turn your bed over and sleep on the B side?

I’m a strong opponent of the AB side of the bed.

Don’t get all wasted, it’s pointless!

Disadvantage 3: there may be no edge protection

The other models that have edge protection are generally “M-spring” edge protection.

It’s not the best choice, but it does have a fall protection function.

This model, however, is not described as having an edge guard, nor is it pictured here.

Pleasant Gate other models of edge protection
